Cost Accountant

Position: Cost Accountant

Fuse3 Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join a rapidly expanding manufacturing company. This role is responsible for tracking, analyzing, and controlling costs related to company operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and providing insights that support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, excellent Excel and ERP system skills, and the ability to work across departments to improve financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze costs of manufacturing, operations, and projects to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare and review cost reports, variance analyses, and profitability studies.
• Maintain and reconcile inventory and cost of goods sold accounts.
• Monitor standard costs, identify variances, and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Develop and improve cost accounting systems, controls, and reporting tools.
• Support management with cost analysis for pricing, investment, and operational decisions.
• Partner with operations, procurement, and finance teams to optimize cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2–5 years of cost accounting or related accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or project-based industries.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with variance analysis, margin analysis, and cost allocation.
• Familiarity with process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to present financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
  
  

The salary range for the Cost Accountant starts at $75k/year and goes up based on experience.
