Fury Water Adventures in Key West, FL, is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Parasail Mate (Crew Member) to join our team. As a Parasail Mate, you will assist the Parasail Captain in safe operation of the Parasail Vessel, ensure guest safety by equipping them with a harness and life jacket for their ride, and provide exceptional customer service while capturing memorable moments through photography. This role requires working long hours in the sun, a passion for water-based activities, and a commitment to creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Parasail Captain in the safe operation of parasail boats, including docking, inflating, and retrieving parasails.
- Ensure guest safety by providing clear safety briefings, instructions, and applying safety equipment.
- Perform photography duties using a personal DSLR camera to capture high-quality images and video of guests during parasail flight.
- Sell photo packages to guests, enhancing their experience and contributing to crew income.
- Provide a fun and professional atmosphere that gains trust from the guests.
- Maintain and clean vessels, equipment, and gear to ensure operational readiness and safety.
- Provide excellent customer service, engaging with guests to create a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and U.S. Coast Guard regulations.
Requirements
- Certifications: Valid CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Photography Equipment: Must supply own DSLR camera (one can be loaned for first 30 days of employment) and have basic photography skills to capture high-quality images and videos.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work long hours in the sun, with physical stamina to handle outdoor conditions and assist with equipment. Must know how to swim and be able to keep calm, listen, and perform under pressure. Can be a fast paced job depending on the daily guest count. Must be an expert multi-tasker.
- Drug Testing: Must pass a pre-employment drug test to enroll in Fury consortium which is subject to random drug testing.
- Background Check: Must pass a federal background check.
- Experience: Previous experience in parasailing, boating, or customer service preferred.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
- Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a positive attitude and ability to handle guest interactions professionally.
Compensation
- Hourly Pay Photo Sales Commission (Tips from guests make up a significant portion of crew income, rewarding excellent service.)
