What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef position at Fury's Restaurant?
Fury’s Restaurant has been around for more than 40 years. The kitchen is a mature group that has been together for many years. We are seeking a chef for immediate hire; Competitive pay commensurate with experience. You will be expected to be the leader in the kitchen as well as develop new menu dishes and troubleshoot any problems with food preparation.
A little bit about us: Fury’s has been a popular Metairie restaurant for over 40 years and both the kitchen staff and front of house have been members of the team for quite some time. We are well-known for our New Orleans-style seafood and Italian dishes. People call us the Galatoire's of Metairie, and we put emphasis on making quality, tasty food from old family recipes in a team-first atmosphere. We value the closeness of the staff as much as we value our guests experience.

Our ideal candidate:
- has experience on stations including expo, fry, and grill
- has menu-creation experience
- has excellent interpersonal and kitchen leadership skills
- is extremely reliable, professional, and trustworthy
- has excellent communication skills - including the ability to text and call with ownership
- has a calm temperament
- is mission driven in a team environment
You will need to be available nights, in particular, Saturdays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and flexible other night shifts with a report time of 3pm. You will also need to do some training with us during the daytime. You should have enough experience to learn our system and recipes quickly.
You need to be able to work in an old-school kitchen environment - the kitchen is hot in the summertime and cold in the wintertime, it's also relatively small. We are not a shiny brand new thing.
This is a great position for someone who wants a steady, reliable, long-term job in a kitchen where you can get to know the customers and feel like family with your coworkers.
