Responsibilities
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, hair trimming, styling, and pet coat styling to meet owner preferences and breed standards
- Handle dogs safely using animal restraint techniques and ensure gentle animal handling throughout all grooming procedures
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other hygiene-related grooming tasks to promote pet health and comfort
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming needs, provide advice on pet care, and discuss any health concerns observed during grooming
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming area by disinfecting tools and workspaces after each appointment
- Assist with animal handling during drop-off and pick-up processes, ensuring a positive experience for pets and owners alike
- Support kennel or pet sitting duties as needed, including heavy lifting of animals or supplies to ensure safety and efficiency
Experience
- 2 Years experience in pet grooming or animal care is highly preferred, especially with dogs of various breeds and sizes.
- Strong scissoring, clipping and finishing skills.
- Strong dog handling skills combined with animal restraint expertise are essential for safe grooming sessions. Commitment to pet safety.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners about grooming needs and animal care instructions
- Experience with animal handling in kennel environments or pet sitting roles demonstrates reliability and adaptability
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move animals or equipment safely
