Job Purpose
The Sleepland Assistant Manager supports the successful day-to-day operation of the Sleepland Gallery by serving as the primary product knowledge and operational support resource. This role partners closely with the Sleepland Gallery Manager to ensure strong execution, accurate information, consistent merchandising standards, and an elevated guest experience
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

- Support the Sleepland Gallery Manager with day-to-day operational execution within the Sleepland Gallery, including gallery readiness, workflow coordination, and resolution of routine issues.
- Maintain a consistent on-floor presence to help ensure the gallery is organized, visually appealing, and guest-ready throughout business hours.
- Engage directly with guests to provide knowledgeable guidance on mattresses and sleep solutions, assess comfort and lifestyle needs, recommend appropriate products, and close sales when appropriate.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for bedding products by supporting sales associates, design consultants, and internal partners with accurate product information and comparative guidance.
- Monitor showroom presentation, signage, and pricing accuracy, and communicate observations, opportunities, or concerns to the Gallery Manager and merchandising partners.
- Stay informed on mattress, sleep, and bedding trends to support informed product conversations and recommendations.
- Assist with product knowledge training support, including preparation of materials, information sharing, and serving as a resource for product-related questions.
- Conduct inventory checks, support reporting and data entry, assist with price card creation, and complete administrative or operational tasks that contribute to the overall success of the Sleepland Gallery.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience
- High School Diploma
- Two or more years of retail sales experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Four or more years of retail sales experience, preferably within mattresses, bedding, or a related specialty category.
- Demonstrated experience serving as a product expert within a retail or showroom environment
- Prior experience supporting operations or merchandising within a retail environment.
- Experience assisting with training or knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Working conditions
This job is an onsite position that operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This job may require extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting. This would require the ability to lift product, open and close product, or carry small items weighing up to 25 lbs.
