About the Role
The HR Coordinator/Business Partner provides comprehensive HR support to our Furniture Market Clearance Center (FMCC), ensuring effective recruiting, onboarding, HRIS administration, performance management, employee engagement, and compliance. This role partners closely with store leadership and central HR to deliver consistent, high-quality HR services. This is an entry level HR role with growth opportunities.
Essential Duties
Talent Acquisition & Recruiting
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for all FMCC positions as well as Facility Services, Food Service, Accounting, Guest Services, Client Relations, Purchasing, Maintenance, and Retail Operations positions.
- Source, screen, and interview candidates; coordinate offers and onboarding logistics.
- Maintain recruiting dashboards and provide regular updates to leadership.
- Participate in career fairs and represent Furnitureland South to attract top talent.
Internship Program Assistance
- Support the administration and coordination of Furnitureland South’s internship program.
- Liaise with interns, managers, and supervisors to ensure a positive experience and compliance with program requirements.
Onboarding & Orientation
- Oversee new hire orientation, including Day 1 logistics, policy acknowledgments, and systems access.
- Manage new hire photos and photo records for HRIS and internal communications.
- Track 30/60/90 day evaluations and stay interviews for new hires.
HR Operations & HRIS Responsibility
- Serve as a source of reference for Paycom end users: manage employee records, timekeeping, scheduling, accruals, and workflows.
- Track completion of assigned learning courses and notify those who have incompletes.
- Provide Paycom training and support to managers and associates.
Performance Management
- Coordinate annual performance evaluations for all Furnitureland Associates, excluding Sales and Operations.
- Guide managers on documentation, feedback, and development planning.
- Track completion and follow-up on performance reviews.
- Oversee 30/60/90 day evaluation process for new hires.
Employee Engagement & Recognition
- Organize and support anniversary celebrations and recognition programs.
- Create and distribute monthly birthday cards.
- Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture through engagement activities and communications.
Team Collaboration & Meetings
- Attend FMCC team meetings and provide HR updates, guidance, and support.
- Partner with store leadership to address workforce planning, compliance, and operational needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in retail or multi-department operations.
- Proficiency in Paycom HRIS/timekeeping/payroll systems.
- Strong recruiting, onboarding, and performance management skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building abilities.
