Collections Representative

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Collections Representative to join our financial services team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, and conducting debt collection negotiations. Responsibilities

• Contact delinquent accounts via phone, email, or written correspondence to facilitate debt recovery and resolve outstanding balances.
• Negotiate repayment plans with clients while adhering to consumer protection laws and industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of all client interactions, payment arrangements, and account statuses in compliance with confidentiality policies.
• Reconcile accounts receivable data regularly to ensure accuracy and support account analysis efforts.
• Collaborate with accounts payable teams and other departments to resolve billing issues and improve revenue cycle processes.
• Stay informed about financial regulatory compliance standards and industry knowledge of financial regulations affecting debt collection practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical collections, accounts receivable, or related finance roles with a strong understanding of debt collection negotiation techniques.
• Excellent phone etiquette, customer service skills, and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
• Knowledge of consumer protection laws, financial concepts, and industry regulations governing collections activities.
• Strong negotiation skills combined with effective communication via phone and telemarketing techniques.
• Ability to analyze financial data accurately using math skills and accounting principles such as debits & credits.
• Prior experience in revenue cycle management or accounting and finance is highly desirable.

Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 45.0 per week
