About the Role:
Furniture Mart in New Orleans East is looking for a hardworking and dependable Retail Furniture Stockroom Associate to join our team! In this hands-on role, you'll be the backbone of our showroom operations — keeping inventory organized, product moving, and customers happy. If you love staying active and take pride in a job well done, this is the opportunity for you!
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and process incoming furniture shipments and deliveries
- Organize and maintain stockroom and showroom
- Assist sales floor staff with pulling, staging, and transferring furniture pieces
- Assist customers on sales floor as needed
- Learn and operate POS system
- Inspect incoming and outgoing merchandise for damage or defects
- Operate hand trucks, dollies, and other material handling equipment safely
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and stockroom environment
- Support customer pickup orders and assist with loading merchandise into vehicles
Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy furniture items (50 lbs) regularly
- Previous stockroom, warehouse, or retail experience preferred
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule including weekends
- Strong attention to detail and solid organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Basic inventory or receiving experience is a plus
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
