We are seeking an experienced and professional Delivery Personnel to join our team at Furniture Fair. In this role, you will transport and deliver a variety of goods and materials from our warehouse to our customers. You will plan the most efficient way to complete your deliveries, ensure adherence to delivery schedules, and complete the delivery, paying attention to detail, to complete these deliveries to our customers satisfaction. The ideal candidate has experience driving trucks and furniture delivery experience with good decision-making skills.
Responsibilities
- Pick up furniture and/or appliances from one location and transport them to our customers' homes. Assemble merchandise and set up.
- Perform routine safety inspections and preventative maintenance
- Plan the safest and most efficient routes from your truck into the customers' homes, to minimize complications.
- Adhere to delivery schedules
- Comply with all company policies and driving laws
- Previous experience as a furniture & appliance delivery personnel is preferred
- CDL is not required, however, all of our drivers will have a DOT certification. The company will provide that certification.
- Applicants will need to have the minimum of a high school diploma
- Understanding of all relevant truck-driving laws and regulations
- All applicants will be background checked prior to hiring.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Willingness to go above what is needed to complete deliveries
Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload furniture from delivery vehicles.
- Deliver products to customer locations with care and professionalism.
- Provide excellent customer service during all interactions.
- Assemble furniture at customer locations as needed.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines during deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Assist with inventory management as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in delivery or logistics is a plus.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
