Job Summary:
The Controls Technician will be responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building automation systems. Candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, and have an aptitude for problem solving, time management, and customer service. The Controls Technician will effectively work with a diverse set of BAS, mechanical, and lighting control systems. The technician will also remain up to date on the latest trends and technologies used in the industry.

Responsibilities:

Monitor Building Automation Systems for alarms and deficiencies
Identify and correct component failures within the BAS system - Backup existing control programs and data on a periodic basis.
- Assist with installation and commissioning activities to include control system setup, network configuration, and equipment integration
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving installation and operation issues related to DDC controls and mechanical systems

Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and codes
Education/skills required:
High school graduate - Completed or currently enrolled in trade school or technical degree program

Basic knowledge and understanding of HVAC equipment and technology - Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics
- Up to date with evolving codes and technology
- Knowledge of Basic electricity
- Ability to work safely with hand and power tools
- Ability to work at heights and on ladders
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Self-Motivated, demonstrates a positive attitude and desire to learn
