We’re seeking an Project Administrator / Field Engineer to bridge office and field operations on high visibility civil and structural projects. You’ll support planning, coordination, and controls from preconstruction through closeout while staying close to work. This is a growth role with a clear path to Project Engineer/Project Manager.
What You’ll Do
- Project Coordination: Assist PM/Superintendent with day-to-day project administration, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and document control (Procore or similar).
- Field Engineering: Perform layout, verify line/grade and elevations, support quantity tracking, and asbuilt documentation (Trimble/Total Station/GPS).
- Scheduling & Planning: Maintain short interval (2–3 week) lookahead schedules; help sequence self perform crews, subs, and deliveries.
- Cost & Change Management: Track quantities, time & material tickets, and production rates; assist with change order pricing and negotiation support.
- Quality & Safety: Support pretask planning, ITPs, inspections, concrete placement logs, and punch list; reinforce our safety culture and daily JHAs.
- Procurement & Subcontracts: Help draft scopes, buyout materials/equipment, and coordinate vendors.
- Stakeholder Interface: Take part in OAC/subcontractor meetings; maintain clear communication with owners, designers, and trade partners.
- Closeout: Compile O&M manuals, asbuilts, warranties, and lessons learned.
What You Bring
- Education: BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 2–6 years with a GC/self perform contractor in civil/site, concrete, utilities, structural, or industrial work. Strong internship/coop experience considered.
- Technical: Familiar with plans/specs, shop drawings, survey/layout, and heavy civil means & methods; proficiency with MS Office, Bluebeam; exposure to Procore, Primavera P6/MS Project, and model based coordination a plus.
- Field First Mindset: Ability to support crews, solve problems in real time, document work accurately, and comfortable in proper field attire.
- Soft Skills: Detail oriented, organized, and initiative-taking; effective communication skills with a service mindset to support the team and client.
- Certs (Preferred): OSHA30, ACI Field Tech, NUCCA/OSHA trenching & shoring, ATSSA, MPT/TTCP; clean driving record.
Nice to Have Exposure
- Data center sites (equipment yards, duct banks, generator/switchgear foundations).
- Site utilities (water, storm, sanitary), dewatering, and environmental compliance.
- Structural concrete (mats, walls, elevated decks), structural steel, FRP, and flood protection work.
