Duties
- Greet clients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures for pets and owners
- Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and coordinate with veterinary staff to optimize daily workflow
- Collect payments, process medical billing, and handle insurance claims with accuracy and professionalism
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions, medical histories, and treatment plans using veterinary software
- Assist with medical collections and ensure compliance with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA standards
- Support kennel operations by coordinating pet care, animal husbandry, and basic animal restraint when needed
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding pet care instructions, upcoming procedures, and follow-up requirements
Skills
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical-surgical procedures, and companion animal medicine
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively both in person and over the phone
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and veterinary management software systems
- Experience with animal handling, dog training, animal restraint, and pet care best practices
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures, aseptic techniques, and veterinary critical care protocols
- Ability to perform animal catheterization, understand animal anatomy, and assist with surgery support tasks
- Knowledge of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations, USDA guidelines, and veterinary clinic operations
