Multiple locations: Ukiah, CA. Ideal candidate should be within a 15-min commute to Ukiah.
Description: Join our team as a Funeral Home Mortuary Crematory Operator and Removals personnel. We're seeking dedicated professionals to handle deceased person removals and transportation with the utmost care, compassion, and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
Perform removals and transportation of deceased individuals from various locations.
Ensure respectful and discrete attention to grieving families.
Transport decedents to the funeral home and learn proper crematory operations.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of facilities and equipment.
Uphold attention to detail and accuracy.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Assist in respectful preparation of deceased individuals.
Manage chain of custody for cremated remains.
Report punctually and follow attendance standards.
Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Requirements:
Entry-level position with training provided.
Develop knowledge of cremation process and related laws.
Safe driving skills with strong organizational and communication abilities.
Exhibit professionalism, integrity, and flexibility.
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and assist with pushing/pulling up to 300 pounds.
Proficient in typing and utilizing standard office equipment.
Dress and maintain professional appearance according to company standards.
Working Conditions:
Blend of office and backroom crematory work.
Outdoor exposure and non-climate controlled conditions.
Driving company vehicle for removals.
Exposure to varying weather conditions during removals.
Equipment Used:
Operate funeral home vehicles safely at any time.
Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Use mortuary stretcher, ankle bands, wrapping materials, and slide boards.
Employ pen and paper, along with digital data entry for record keeping.
