What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortuary Transport Technician position at Funeral Directors Service?
Perform transfers of deceased from place of passing, i.e., accident scenes, nursing homes, hospitals and residences. This is a very "hands-on" vocation that requires you to touch, lift and move decedents and demands a high level of physical fitness and emotional fortitude. This position is 12-hour shifts/five consecutive days per week during which time you are "on-call" to respond to transport dispatches during your designated shift. Shifts are either day (6:00am - 6:00 pm) or night (6:00 pm - 6:00 am). You take possession of a company vehicle during you shift and will be dispatched from your residence, our office or while on-the-road.
- Receive dispatches, obtain necessary information and follow-through as required.
- Handle human remains in a safe, dignified and professional manner.
- Reside in the Denver metro area.
- Have a valid drivers license and good driving record.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Available to work night, weekend and holiday hours.
- Ability to follow directions, policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be organized.
- Must maintain a professional appearance in dress and grooming.
- Able to perform some heavy lifting.
