Fundcraft Print Group, a book printing and bindery company located in Collierville, TN, is looking for an experienced Digital Press Operator to join our production team.
This position is for someone with commercial digital printing experience who understands paper stocks, color, print quality and how to accurately produce jobs from job tickets.
Our digital production department operates Ricoh and Canon production presses. Experience with Ricoh, Canon or other production digital presses is preferred.
Schedule
Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
Enjoy a 4-day workweek with Fridays off.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Ricoh and Canon production digital presses
- Read and accurately follow job tickets and production specifications
- Select and load the correct paper stocks for each job
- Monitor print quality, registration, color and consistency throughout production runs
- Make press adjustments as needed to maintain print quality
- Perform routine operator maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality
- Keep presses and work areas clean and organized
- Meet daily production schedules and deadlines
- Assist with other print and bindery equipment when needed
Required Skills & Experience
Previous commercial digital printing experience is strongly preferred.
Candidates should be familiar with:
- Production digital printing equipment
- Paper weights and paper types
- Text vs. cover stocks
- Coated and uncoated papers
- Gloss, silk/satin and matte finishes
- Common text, cover and point stocks
- Reading and understanding print job tickets
- Evaluating print quality and identifying printing defects
- Color and image quality
- Basic measurements and reading a ruler
Experience with Ricoh, Canon, Fiery Command WorkStation or similar production printing systems is a plus.
Experience on another manufacturer's production digital press is also welcome. We can train an experienced press operator on our specific equipment.
