Position Summary:
The On-Call Educator plays a vital role in maintaining the continuity and quality of our program by supporting classrooms when full-time staff are absent. This position participates in the care, supervision, and education of children while ensuring compliance with all licensing, accreditation, and program standards.
Success in this role means creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children while being flexible, dependable, and responsive to program needs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide a safe, nurturing, and responsive environment for children
· Support daily classroom routines, lesson plans, and curriculum implementation
· Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual children’s needs and interests
· Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and compliance
· Assist with basic care needs (meals, rest, toileting, hygiene)
· Facilitate age-appropriate activities (play, reading, art, social interaction)
· Model positive behavior and support social-emotional development
· Maintain accurate records of routines, meals, and activities
· Follow all program policies, licensing regulations, and quality standards
· Participate in staff meetings and required trainings

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to meet NM licensing requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Successful background check
Preferred:
- Coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Experience working with young children in a group setting
Compensation:
$19.00/ hour
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Active role requiring standing, walking, bending, and lifting children
- Work occurs both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
