Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
- Schedule department working hours, personnel, work assignments, etc., to maintain quality patient care.
- Develop and participate in programs designed for on-the-job training and orientation classes for newly assigned department personnel.
- Schedule and/or conduct a monthly in-service for department personnel.
- Hold routine departmental meetings.
- Provide education to other departments in the facility regarding dietary services.
- Must be a Certified Dietary Manager, long term care experience preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing facility or other related medical facility
- Training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc.
- Must maintain current licensure as required by law
- Any combination of experience and training which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
- Reliable transportation required
