About the Role
We are looking for reliable, compassionate Mobile Crisis Counselors to join our crisis response team. This role provides rapid, in-person crisis intervention for individuals experiencing behavioral or mental health emergencies. You will assess risk, stabilize the situation, develop safety plans, and link individuals to the right level of care.
Responsibilities
- Respond to crisis calls in the community, homes, hospitals, and schools.
- Complete crisis assessments and evaluate risk for suicide, self-harm, psychosis, or aggression.
- Use de-escalation skills to help stabilize individuals in crisis.
- Create safety plans and short-term stabilization plans.
- Coordinate care with hospitals, CSBs, EMS, law enforcement, and outpatient providers.
- Provide warm handoffs to Community Stabilization, therapy, psychiatry, and other services.
- Complete all crisis documentation the same day (assessment, safety plan, progress notes, referrals, and discharge).
- Maintain compliance with DBHDS, DMAS, and agency standards.
- Attend supervision, meetings, and required training.
Qualifications
Required:
- QMHP, LMHP, LMHP-S, LMHP-R
- Experience working in behavioral health, crisis intervention, or a related setting.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred:
- Experience with crisis response or de-escalation.
- Familiarity with DBHDS/DMAS guidelines.
- Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills.
