The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our team as a lead architect and craftsman.

We are building a high-complexity product with a highly capable feature team. To maintain our velocity and reach the next level of quality, we need to transition from organic growth to a rigorous, methodical architecture.

We need a senior partner to build the “structural floor” of our React application—someone who can handle the heavy architectural plumbing so our feature team can focus on shipping high-value functionality without getting bogged down in debugging.

We are looking for a “Systems Craftsman”—someone who understands that a world-class user experience is strictly dependent on engineering rigor.

• Rigor is the Floor: You know that magic UX is impossible on a flickering state model. You build the architectural stability required for the product to feel instantaneous and alive.
• Systems over Paint: You reject pixel-perfection built on top of fragile code. You prioritize the data integrity that ensures the interface never breaks as we scale.
• Predictability as Velocity: You replace reactive guesswork with methodical state machines and schema-driven data flows. You understand that a reliable system is the only way to move with true alacrity.
• Engine & Interior: You are a 50/50 split of architect and craftsman. You build a high-performance engine specifically to deliver a world-class driving experience.

What You Will Do

• Systematize State Management: Implement a methodical state management plan based on our field dictionary, moving our React codebase away from ad-hoc patterns toward a structured, data-driven system.
• Build the Foundation: Own the heavy plumbing. Create the abstractions, hooks, and TypeScript patterns that allow the rest of the team to build features rapidly without fighting the codebase.
• Ensure Backend-Level Rigor: Bring the same level of stability and strict typing to the frontend that we expect from our backend systems, including robust Auth flows (JWTs, OIDC).
• Deliver World-Class UI: Use your architectural control to ensure the UI is glitch-free, performant (60fps), and responsive using Tailwind CSS and Figma-led designs.

Technical Stack & Skills

• Core: React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML/CSS/JS.
• Styling & Design: Tailwind CSS, Figma experience, and UI/UX Design experience.
• Data & API: Familiarity with APIs and a working knowledge of Databases (SQL/Postgres).
• Security: Experience with Auth flows (JWTs, OIDC).
• Nice to Have: JS Animation experience (Framer Motion, GSAP, etc.).

Who You Are

• A TypeScript Expert: You don’t just use any. You are comfortable mapping frontend state directly to backend schemas/field dictionaries to ensure total type safety across the wire.
• A React Expert: You understand the render cycle inside and out. You value the spirit of tools like Zustand or React-Query to keep the frontend clean.
• An Architect at Heart: You’ve either built robust frontend architectures before or have the intuition to know exactly why organic growth fails. You prefer solving classes of bugs by design.
• A Force Multiplier: You take pride in building the rails that help other engineers run faster.
