The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. It facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City.

Position Overview
The Data Entry Intern will support Contracts and Compliance and Finance in maintaining accurate financial records, processing contracts, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual looking to gain hands-on experience in data entry, contract management, and financial compliance within a non-profit setting.
Responsibilities
- Accurately enter and maintain financial and contract data in the organization’s systems.
- Assist in reviewing and organizing financial documents and contracts to ensure completeness and compliance with internal policies.
- Support the Contracts and Compliance Analyst in tracking contract deadlines, renewals, and necessary documentation.
- Help compile reports related to financial transactions and compliance requirements.
- Perform routine audits of financial data to identify and correct discrepancies.
- Assist in maintaining electronic and physical filing systems for financial records.
- Respond to data-related inquiries from internal stakeholders.
- Provide general administrative support to the Finance Team as needed.
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with data entry and document management preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Interest in finance, compliance, and non-profit administration.
- Compensation: $21.00 per hour
- Part time, approximately 15 – 20 hours per week
- Hybrid: Mon & Friday work remote/Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in office
- Hours: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
