Job Summary
Functional Therapy Solutions LLC (FTXSLP) is seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our growing practice. This position is ideal for an SLP interested in feeding, swallowing, oral function and orofacial myofunctional therapy across the lifespan; from newborns experiencing early feeding challenges to children and adults working toward improved breathing, swallowing and oral function.
The position will begin part-time at approximately 10–20 completed visits per week, with the potential to grow toward 25–40 visits and full-time employment based on clinician availability, client demand and mutual agreement.
This opportunity offers growth beyond building a caseload. The selected clinician may:
- Receive mentorship from an experienced Feeding Specialist and Certified Myofunctional Therapist
- Expand skills in infant feeding, pediatric feeding, swallowing and myofunctional therapy
- Build relationships with trusted Charleston-area healthcare professionals
- Participate in community education and whole-child wellness initiatives
- Help develop new clinical services and programs
- Grow into increased responsibility or clinical leadership as the practice expands
Specialized experience is preferred, but clinicians with a strong foundation, genuine interest and commitment to advanced training are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat feeding, swallowing and orofacial myofunctional concerns within the clinician’s training and scope.
- Review medical, developmental, feeding, sleep, airway and dental histories to understand each client’s complete clinical picture.
- Develop evidence-based, individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and family priorities.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, ENTs, dentists, orthodontists, lactation consultants, therapists and other providers.
- Complete timely evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports and discharge documentation.
- Follow HIPAA requirements, professional ethics and practice policies.
- Maintain a warm, engaging and supportive therapeutic environment.
Qualifications
- Current South Carolina SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence or applicable eligibility
- Knowledge of feeding, swallowing, oral motor development or myofunctional function
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication and caregiver-education skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with other professionals
- Timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Willingness to pursue specialized training
- Reliable transportation for any services outside the clinic

Functional Therapy Solutions LLC is a locally owned practice serving infants, children and adults throughout Mount Pleasant and Charleston.
FTXSLP was founded by Alyssa Pitt, M.S., CCC-SLP, Certified Myofunctional Therapist and Feeding Specialist. Alyssa has more than 15 years of experience across medical, school-based and private-practice settings, with advanced training in feeding, swallowing, manual therapy and orofacial myofunctional disorders.
Our approach goes beyond treating isolated symptoms. We consider connections among feeding, swallowing, oral function, breathing, sleep, communication, posture and overall wellness. We listen to the complete story, identify the next useful question and help families develop a clear, prioritized path forward.
FTXSLP has grown primarily through referrals from families and trusted Lowcountry professionals. We are intentionally building a small, collaborative team whose clinicians feel supported, respected and encouraged to develop their individual strengths.
