Music Leader

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Music Leader to collaborate and perform during our worship services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong performance background and excellent communication skills, enabling them to foster an uplifting worship experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Pastor and Worship Planning Team to help plan the musical components of the worship services.
• Participate in the planning and budgeting for this ministry.
• Collaborate with the Assistant to the Music Leader to organize special music, soloists, or performance groups for the worship services.
• Schedule rehearsals with the Assistant to the Music Leader and/or vocal or instrumental performers that are to prepare for the worship service.
• Research, organize, and order new music as necessary, in conjunction with the Assistant to the Music Leader.
• Lead Sunday morning worship services with the Pastor.
• Abide by and enforce the Safe Sanctuary policies of the church and the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church.
• Work together as a team with other staff members.

Qualifications

The Music Leader will have experience leading and choosing music for all types of worship. This person will have an audition in front of a group consisting of the Pastor and at least two members of the church who have experience in the music field. This person will have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ and will be committed to constantly developing that relationship. This person will have a positive influence upon the people involved in music. This person will live by and support the mission and ministry of First United Methodist Church through “prayers, presence, gifts, and service.” This person will also have a personal/family life that upholds the highest values of the Christian faith and that does not detract from either music ministry or the ministry of the church.!

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 4 – 8 per week
