Job Summary
We are seeking to add an additional person to our Elementary Leadership Team through the role of Assistant Head of Elementary to support the leadership and management of our elementary school beginning for the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves collaborating with senior leadership to develop and implement educational strategies, oversee daily operations, organize school events, work with parents, and ensure a high-quality learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, educational expertise, and a passion for fostering student success in a collaborative setting.
Duties
- Assist the Head of Elementary in developing and implementing curriculum aligned with educational standards and innovative practices.
- Support strategic planning initiatives to enhance school programs, facilities, and community engagement.
- Lead school event efforts to support projects and extracurricular activities.
- Manage budgets effectively to ensure resources are allocated appropriately across departments.
- Supervise faculty and staff, providing mentorship, conducting evaluations, and fostering professional development.
- Oversee classroom management and teaching quality through regular observations and feedback.
- Coordinate with administrative teams to ensure smooth daily operations and compliance with policies.
- Represent the school at public events, parent meetings, and community outreach programs through effective public speaking.
- Promote a positive school culture that encourages student engagement, diversity, and inclusion.
- Collect and analyze instructional data to support school improvement goals.
- Coordinate and communicate professional learning, including weekly reminders and monthly calendars.
- Support staff professional learning goals throughout the year.
- Lead the Professional Learning Committee and manage approval of professional learning requests.
- Support gifted identification processes (CogAT, MAP-based eligibility, follow-up communication)
- Assist with field trip scheduling and coordination.
Qualifications
- 3 years teaching experience in elementary education (PK–5)
- Master's Degree
- Strong understanding of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team-based leadership model
Preferred:
- 2 years leadership experience
- Experience with gifted learners
- Experience working in a private school setting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $92,000.00 - $96,000.00 per year
