Job Title: Bandsaw Operator
Pay Rate: $25-30/hr.
Shift: 1st (start time between 5:30 AM - 7 AM)
Benefits: Medical, Dental, AD&D, PSL
The Butcher preps raw materials to spec before finished goods. They are responsible for meeting order deadlines and daily efficiency goals, and must be able to multitask and provide quick responses/solutions to unforeseen production problems. This role requires strong communication and collaboration, and a professional, efficient demeanor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to read and follow instructions on the Production Sheet.
- Safely handles knives or tools to perform tasks.
- Sharpen and adjust cutting equipment.
- Performs cuts to ACM and/or NAMP standards.
- Operate assigned machinery to ACM standards and expectations.
- Ensure the product meets all customer specifications before it moves to the next stage in the production area.
- Cutting, grinding, and preparing meats for packaging; Weighing, packaging, and keeping records of all meat products
- Clean equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation standards.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications.
- Enforces Good Manufacturing Practices and safety regulations.
- Follows all safety guidelines; Reports any work-related injuries to HR as soon as possible (no later than 24 hours)
- Monitors production floor for any safety hazards and reports issues to Production Supervisor and/or HR
- Answers radio requests; Responds to questions and solves problems.
- Informs Production Supervisor of whereabouts, attendance, and activities; Proactively identifies problems and potential problems, and offers possible solutions.
- Required to fill various roles on the production floor, including, but not limited to, Operator, Packager, Wrangler, Stager, or any other line job as required.

- Coordinates with Production Manager to analyze product specifications and plant/equipment capacities.
- Collaborates with the Production Supervisor in auditing existing products.

- Assists other employees as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

- Minimal High School or GED
- 1-year experience in a Food Processing environment
- Advanced knowledge of GMP’s; HACCP Certified
- Two to Five years’ experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Previous experience working in meat processing environment USDA trained
- Bilingual in Spanish/English
- Butcher is required to spend 100% of time on floor at assigned line(s)
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, move from one station to another, operate a pallet jack
- The employee is regularly required to talk and hear
- The employee is regularly required to use repetitive motion and reach overhead
- The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle and feel
- The employee is regularly required to walk on wet, even and uneven surfaces, reach with hands and arms, lift and relocate up to 25 lbs.
- The employee is occasionally required to push, pull, balance, stoop, climb, kneel, and bend.
- Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
