Under the direction of Nursing Leadership, the Registered Nurse provides direct, high-quality patient care and oversees care delivered by other nursing staff, performing all required duties and procedures for diverse patient populations.

Under the direction of Nursing Leadership, the Registered Nurse provides direct, high-quality patient care and oversees care delivered by other nursing staff, performing all required duties and procedures for diverse patient populations.
- Patient Care: Assesses patient needs, administers care, and provides health promotion and disease prevention education.
- Collaboration: Serves as the primary liaison, frequently interacting with patients, families, and providers to discuss care, concerns, and conflict resolution.
- Documentation: Ensures pertinent and applicable documentation is completed.
- Skill Maintenance: Responsible for maintaining performance skills and knowledge of current nursing standards.
- Cross-Training: Participates in cross-training for Medical/Surgical and Emergency Services.
- Leadership: Must be capable of functioning in a leadership role, acting as a resource, and assuming command in emergency/crisis situations.
- Hours: 12-hour shifts with required Weekend and Holiday rotations. Schedule is subject to adjustment based on workload (including low census utilization).
- Core Competencies: Requires exemplary critical thinking and technical skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks in stressful situations while maintaining composure, and effective communication skills.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- License: Current Michigan Board of Nursing license as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience (Preferred): One year of medical-surgical, emergency nursing, or equivalent experience.
- Certifications:
- BLS required within 3 months of hire.
- ACLS & TNCC required within 1 year of hire.
- Professional: Must demonstrate a positive attitude, responsibility, and initiative, and be committed to integrating quality improvement and professional practice concepts into care delivery.
