POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time management position in our Nutrition Services division. The Supervisor of Nutrition Services works under general direction from the Director of Nutrition Services and plans, coordinates, supervises, and administers the scheduling and preparation of Nutrition Service operations at the District Nutrition Center and schools and also plans, develops, and prepares nutritionally balanced, cost-effective menus for students. This position has the approximate work hours of 6:30 A.M. - 3 P.M. and is an exempt, mgmt. 40 hr/wk, 12 mo/yr position with paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation. The district offers a comprehensive health benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and district-paid life insurance for the employee. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: •Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, food science, public health, or a closely related field is required. •Active status as a registered dietitian is preferred. Experience: •2 years of paid experience in menu planning and working with special diets for schools and/or institutional Nutrition Services including one (1) year in a lead capacity, is required. •Additional education in a closely related field beyond the minimum qualifications of this classification may be substituted for one (1) year of experience in menu planning and working with special diets for schools and/or institutional Nutrition Services. Licensure: •Possession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License and insurability are required. •A valid California food manager certification is required. Special Information: •The operation of a district vehicle is required. •All applicants are required to submit a recent (less than one month old from the recruitment closing date) DMV printout showing their driving records for the past 10 years.
RECRUITMENT PROCEDURES This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The recruitment qualification process will consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation and structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future vacancies. Date of Interviews The date of the interviews will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email, and/or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s).
