Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Directors of Educational Services, Social Emotional Learning and Family Supports, the Early Childhood Learning and Development Teacher on Special Assignment will support Pre-K, TK, and K teachers in creating developmentally appropriate, emotionally supportive classrooms and in implementing evidence-based SEL and positive behavior systems. Believing that challenging behaviors stem from skill gaps, this role encourages educators to shift their understanding of student behavior. Requirements / Qualifications

Education: • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree Experience: • Minimum of five years of successful general education classroom teaching experience • Minimum of three years of direct classroom teaching experience in early childhood settings (Pre-K, TK, and/or K) • Training and experience with the Collaborative Problem-Solving (CPS) approach or equivalent evidence-based skill development framework (preferred) • Training and experience with the Pyramid Model or equivalent PBIS frameworks • Training or certification in trauma-informed practices and ACE awareness • Demonstrated experience with SEL implementation in general education classrooms • Knowledge of restorative practices and experience with classroom circles or restorative dialogue Licenses and Other Requirements: • A valid California Clear Teaching Credential or California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Child Development Site Supervisor Permit • Minimum of 24 ECE Units • Master's degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Early Childhood Education, or related field (Preferred) • Certified Trainer or Advanced Practitioner in the Pyramid Model (Preferred) • Certified Trainer in Collaborative Problem-Solving (CPS/Think: Kids) (Preferred) • PBIS Certified Trainer (Preferred) • Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) 2nd Edition Observer Certification (Preferred)

(Education Code 262.3, 48853, 48853.5, 49013, 49069.5, 51125.1, 51125.2, 52075; 5 CCR 4622) UCP Timeline The complaint review shall be completed within 60 calendar days from the date of receipt of the complaint unless the complainant agrees in writing to an extension of the timeline. A complaint alleging retaliation or unlawful discrimination (such as discriminatory harassment, intimidation, or bullying) must be filed not later than six months from the date it occurred, or six months from the date the complainant first obtained knowledge of the facts of the alleged unlawful discrimination. The time for filing may be extended for up to 90 days by the Superintendent or designee for good cause upon written request by the complainant setting forth the reasons for the extension. The complainant has a right to appeal the District’s decision to the CDE by filing a written appeal within 15 calendar days of receiving the District’s decision. In any complaint alleging unlawful discrimination (such as discriminatory harassment, intimidation, or bullying), the respondent also shall have the right to file an appeal with the CDE in the same manner as the complainant, if he/she is dissatisfied with the District’s decision.
