Job Description

The Fuller Engineering Explosion Protection Service Technician will inspect, test and repair various Explosion Protection Systems and equipment per NFPA guidelines. The ideal candidate is a detailed, analytical problem-solver who is motivated, hardworking and has a high aptitude for critical thinking tasks. EP technicians travel up to 65-75% of the time, primarily domestic, but including Mexico and Canada.

Travel to various facilities, nationwide as well as internationally, as required.

Position Summary

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of Explosion Protection systems.
  • Perform routine technical inspections and troubleshoot system problems with basic hand tools and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Daily service duties will include working at different heights by implementing ladders and man lifts as well as working indoors and outdoors.
  • Provide prompt, courteous technical support.
  • Program, build, and configure Explosion Protection Control Panels.
  • Perform system rebuilds at end user facilities.
  • Provide complete and accurate service reports for each piece of equipment serviced, with condition of equipment and any recommendations for repairs required.
  • Communicate with manufacturer’s technical support team to diagnose system problems.
  • Respond to service requests in a timely fashion.
  • Provide complete monthly counts of assigned inventory.
  • Provide complete monthly expense reports.
  • Evaluate customer sites for additional equipment and services Fuller Engineering can offer.
  • Cover a 24/7 on-call week that is rotated among all service technicians throughout the year.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, attitude and relationship with customers and employees at all times.
  • Keep assigned company vehicle clean, well maintained, and stocked with appropriate inventory levels.
  • Overnight Travel as required.

Required:

    • High School Diploma or a General Educational Development Diploma (GED).
    • Comfortable with heights and working on ladders and man lifts.
    • Comfortable with large amount of travel (up to 75% of time spent).
    • Excellent Communication skills.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to pass required pre-employment drug screening, background check and satisfactory driving history.
    • Critical thinking.
Preferred:

    • Basic knowledge of low voltage electricity and mechanics.
    • Basic knowledge of hands tool and troubleshooting equipment.
    • Ability to read blueprints and design layouts.
    • Associates degree in a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Fire / explosion industry experience
