GENERAL SUMMARY:
- The Emergency Management and Business Continuity (EMBC) Coordinator leads local or regional efforts to ensure preparedness and resilience against operational disruptions and disasters.
- This role is responsible for supporting the implementation of emergency management and business continuity programs, collaborating with key stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with applicable regulatory requirements.
- The EMBC Coordinator plays a key role in sustaining operational continuity and supporting the organization's mission during emergencies.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree or relevant combination of education and experience required; Master's degree preferred.
- One to three years of experience in emergency management or business continuity, or related field required.
- Prior experience in incident management or command center roles preferred.
- Strong preference for experience in healthcare emergency management, including collaboration with clinical teams and support of operational continuity strategies.
- Healthcare provider background (e.g., EMT, Paramedic, RN) preferred.
- Completion of FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) or within one year of hire.
- Completion of Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) or within one year of hire.
- Valid Michigan Driver's License required.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Professional certification preferred (e.g., Professional Emergency Manager [PEM], Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional [CHEP]).
