POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides support to Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee by answering patient calls, setting patient appointments, maintaining records and providing customer service.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Formal Education / Training:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Workplace Experience:
At least one year medical office experience and ability to communicate well
Equipment and Skills Training:
Competent in the use of computers, printers, facsimile machines, copy machines, business phones, document scanners and other office equipment and supplies.
Physical Environment:
Office environment.
Physical Effort:
Must be able to sit, stand, communicate in English, both verbally and in written form, squat, reach overhead, operate a computer/keyboard and heard instruction as appropriate.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Schedules appointments appropriately in Allscripts and Meditech
- Maintains current patient information such as demographics and insurance
- Provides simple medical advice under the direction of the physician
- Provides patients with info on HIPPA and insures compliance
- Maintains patient records
- Insures patients are informed of changes with providers schedules
- Has the ability to work independently
- Is able to perform task with limited questions or guidance from co-workers or team lead
- Consistently verifies patient insurance information
- Follows scheduling instructions
- Performs duties with limited scheduling errors
- Maintains open line of communication with all staff
