Community Based Rehabilitation Specialist (CBRS)

Overview

As a Community Based Rehabilitation Specialist (CBRS), you’ll provide practical, person-centered support to children, youth, and adults with mental health, behavioral, developmental, or substance use needs. You’ll work with clients in community settings to build daily living skills, strengthen coping strategies, and support progress toward individualized goals. Your impact: By helping clients practice skills in real-life situations, you support greater independence and help families and communities access more consistent care.

Responsibilities

• Complete client intake, gather relevant information, and contribute to individualized support plans.
• Provide behavioral health and patient care, including behavior intervention, behavior management, and applied behavior analysis strategies as appropriate to the plan.
• Support clients with autism spectrum disorders, developmental and other disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, PTSD, and substance use disorders.
• Use crisis management, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques; provide first aid and CPR or medication administration only when authorized and trained.
• Collect data and maintain accurate medical documentation, medical records, and electronic health records (EHR) in accordance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.

Skills

• Experience working with children, youth, individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities, autism, or neurodevelopmental disorders is valuable.
• Knowledge of social work, special education, addiction counseling, mental health and behavioral care, and behavioral health is preferred.
• Strong client communication, crisis response, and behavior support skills.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality; first aid, CPR, and experience are helpful.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
