Job Title: Production Scheduler Role Summary:
The Production Scheduler is responsible for managing and coordinating all production workflow across offset & digital press, wide format, bindery, and mailing. This role ensures jobs are prioritized correctly, deadlines are met, and production capacity is used efficiently.
This is a central control role that connects all departments and keeps the operation running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Scheduling & Flow Management
- Build and manage the daily and weekly production schedule
- Prioritize jobs based on deadlines, revenue impact, and capacity
- Adjust schedules in real time as conditions change
- Ensure smooth handoffs between departments
Cross-Department Coordination
- Communicate priorities clearly to each department
- Resolve scheduling conflicts between teams
- Ensure alignment across press, wide format, bindery, and mailing
Accountability & Follow-Through
- Track job progress and ensure deadlines are met
- Escalate risks, delays, or bottlenecks immediately
- Hold departments accountable to committed timelines
Capacity & Efficiency Management
- Monitor workload vs. capacity across departments
- Identify bottlenecks and recommend adjustments
- Help balance workload to maximize throughput
Communication
- Serve as the central point of communication for production status
- Provide clear updates to leadership and internal stakeholders
