Associate Director, Solution Design

Job Summary
The Associate Director of Solution Design is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of innovative technology solutions that align with organizational goals. This position requires a deep understanding of enterprise architecture, system integration, and emerging technologies such as cloud computing, AI, and machine learning. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure, and efficient solutions, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices. This role offers an opportunity to influence the technological direction of the organization while collaborating with senior leadership to drive digital transformation initiatives.

Duties

• Lead the design and architecture of complex IT solutions encompassing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), virtualization (vSphere), and network infrastructure (MPLS, WAN).
• Develop comprehensive system designs utilizing technologies including Java, C#, .NET, Python, PHP, React, Angular, Node.js, and SQL databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
• Oversee integration of APIs, ERP systems, data warehouses, ETL processes, and application development projects following SDLC methodologies.
• Ensure security compliance by implementing network security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, DNS management, Active Directory, and adherence to NIST standards.
• Manage vendor relationships and oversee vendor management processes to ensure quality delivery of hardware and software solutions.
• Drive project management efforts utilizing Agile methodologies to deliver solutions on time and within scope.
• Lead system administration activities including server management, disaster recovery planning, business continuity planning, change management, and IT governance.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic initiatives related to IT infrastructure modernization, data security, and compliance standards.
• Promote DevOps practices by integrating automation tools for deployment pipelines and system monitoring.
• Provide technical guidance on network administration, system design, application development, and IT infrastructure planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in solution architecture or solution design within enterprise environments.
• Proven expertise in cloud computing platforms (AWS & Azure), virtualization (vSphere), network infrastructure (MPLS/WAN), and system administration.
• Strong programming skills in JavaScript (React, Angular), Python, Java, C#, PHP; experience with APIs and web development technologies such as HTML/CSS is essential.
• Deep understanding of databases including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, MongoDB; experience with ETL processes and data warehousing is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices including firewalls, VPNs, DNS management, Active Directory integration; familiarity with NIST standards is preferred.
• Experience with DevOps tools and methodologies for continuous integration/deployment.
• Familiarity with IT governance frameworks such as ITIL or COBIT; vendor management experience is a plus.
• Strong analysis skills combined with excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Pay: $74,931.34 - $90,239.90 per year
