OVERVIEW

The Account Executive works closely with the team to drive media relations and influencer outreach for the division's key accounts. The ideal candidate possesses a keen understanding of the modern media landscape alongside a strong track record of securing top-tier placements. Applicants must have experience fostering relationships with influencers and contributing to creative brainstorms..


The ability to communicate effectively with staff, clients, and external contacts in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment is crucial. This role requires a professional who is flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient while managing competing priorities. Additionally, candidates must hold a genuine interest in the CPG/consumer lifestyle, influencer, and entertainment industries in which this position operates.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with executives to execute strategic communications campaigns for the division’s clients
  • Support media and influencer relations for an assortment of the division's clients with an emphasis on product placement and consumer coverage
  • Establish and maintain a network of media contacts across long-lead, short-lead, and digital publications
  • Draft media materials - including press releases, pitches, media lists and messaging documents - for the division’s key clients with support from senior team members
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of an Account Coordinator
  • Keep division head apprised of account status including big ideas, issues and opportunities
  • Contribute to brainstorm/ideation sessions with internal team members
  • Manage relationships with representatives and managers for content creators and talent


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Three to four years of PR experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing others for Account Executive role
  • Demonstrated experience in working within the CPG space is required for this role, while experience working with talent is preferred
  • Prior agency experience is required for this role
  • A 4-year college degree
  • Existing relationships with long lead, short lead and digital editors is preferred
  • A strong and current understanding of social media platforms as well as notable content creators in the space


REQUIRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Ability to think both strategically and creatively to connect the dots for the divisions clients
  • Effective organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills and an ability to effectively work with people at all levels
  • Ability to effectively and skillfully pitch media and maintain those relationships
  • A passionate and skilled writer who is able to deliver creative and effective press releases media alerts, pitches and written materials for the division’s clients
  • Natural affinity for client service and experience working with a variety of client types and personalities
  • Able to work in a team environment- someone who is an enthusiastic team player and has strong interpersonal skills
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and media representatives
  • Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines
  • A knowledge of the overall media industry and a passion for public relations, popular culture and social media
  • Network actively with media, PR professionals, and attend industry events
