Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer belts.
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare teams.
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans developed by healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs and preferences.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document care activities, patient observations, and incidents clearly and thoroughly in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a respectful and engaging atmosphere.
Requirements
- Must get DSP 1 & DSP 2 Certificate after being hired if you do not already have them.
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR, First Aid, autism support is desirable.
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in health status or behavior.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers.
- Valid certifications in CPR and First Aid; additional certifications related to nursing or social work are advantageous.
