What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant position at Full Hearts hospice?
Responsibilities:
- Spanish speaker highly preferred.
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Assist with medical procedures, including catheterization and wound care
- Monitor patients and report any changes in their condition to the nursing staff
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Follow all HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program
- Current certification as a nursing assistant (CNA)
- Experience working with children is preferred
- Knowledge of primary care principles and practices
- Familiarity with catheterization procedures and techniques
- Ability to perform basic medical tasks, such as taking vital signs and administering medication under the direction of a nurse
- Experience in specialized areas such as ICU or hospice care is a plus
- Familiarity with airway management techniques is desired
