Optometric Technician- Part Time

In this role, you will assist optometrists during patient examinations, maintain accurate medical records, and help ensure efficient clinic operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to build experience in optometry while contributing to patients’ vision health.

This is a Part Time position with a set schedule: Tuesdays 8a-6p and Thursdays 10a-7p

Responsibilities

• Pre-test patients and perform diagnostic testing (retinal imaging, OCT, visual fields, etc.)
• Record patient histories and chief complaints accurately
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain equipment
• Educate patients on procedures, contact lens care, and eyewear options
• Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR system
• Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines
• Provide exceptional customer service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Previous experience in an optometry or ophthalmology office preferred (training available for the right candidate)

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• May require prolonged periods of standing or bending
