Overview
As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in the pediatric population. What you’ll do
- Assess patients’ needs and develop personalized treatment plans to assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
- Provide therapy in a private pediatric clinic.
- Utilize your knowledge of pediatrics to deliver age-appropriate interventions that promote recovery and well-being.
- Implement therapeutic exercises and activities designed to enhance physical, cognitive, and emotional functioning.
- Monitor progress and coordinate with supervising occupational therapist to adjust care plans as necessary based on patient outcomes and feedback.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and effective communication throughout the treatment process.
- Educate patients and their families about conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing daily activities post-therapy.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and any changes in condition.
Experience
- A degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance from an accredited program is required.
- Valid state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant is essential.
- Experience in pediatric facilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques as they relate to therapy interventions is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is crucial for effective patient treatment planning.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams are necessary.
