SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The PM Technician/ Mechanic has responsibility for PM maintenance and troubleshooting repair as well as other duties assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complies with company safety and operating procedures and guidelines
- Reports any un-safe practices to your supervisor
- Ensures all repairs are safe, cost-effective and completed in a time-efficient manner
- Provides a good understanding of tasks and tools needed to complete jobs
- Maintains a clean and safe work area in accordance with all company safety policies
- Ability to operate all types of vehicles, equipment, and hand tools
- Perform minor and major repairs on all types of equipment, including but not limited to, vehicles, trailers, power-operated equipment, hand tools, etc.
- Maintains accurate records of time spent, parts used, and tasks used to complete a work order
- Assists in developing transportation maintenance and repair procedures
- Works with vehicle/equipment operators to understand and solve concerns in regards to proper vehicle/equipment maintenance and operation
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with guests and employees
- Performs all other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor
- Power washing and tire repairs / flat repairs
- Trailer repairs
- SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- ·Use of computer
- High School Diploma, GED or work-related experience
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience
- Must be 18 years of age
- Driver’s license required
- Knowledge of all types of machinery and tools
- Experience with hydraulic systems, gas engines, diesel engines, electrical systems, drive trains, and various hand tools
- Must have the ability and willingness to work in all types of adverse conditions such as extreme weather, enclosed spaces, etc.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs. and handle physical workload
- Ability to work safely and independently
- Dependable and consistent work ethic
- Good written and verbal communication skills and basic math skills required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Ability to stand constantly throughout shift, walk constantly, frequent use of hands, speak and hear on a frequent basis. Vision abilities including: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.JOB CONDITIONS: Laborers are required to wear protective gear, safety boots, goggles, a helmet, and gloves. Exposure to physical operations at metal recycling yards; may include but not limited to walking/climbing in active Industrial yards with uneven surfaces and to out-of-the-way areas. Frequent exposure to inclement weather conditions.
