DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Essential functions of the position)

The BCBA I will support clients and their families by providing applied behavior analysis services including assessment, treatment planning, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills. The BCBA I will facilitate communication between all team members, manage client data, and ensure all team members have the necessary support, training, and materials to assist the client in reaching their full potential.


·      Complete and implement individualized assessments, treatment plans, behavior acquisition and reduction procedure for clients on caseload.

·      Ensure recommended client treatment utilization rate aligns with recommended dosage.

·      Assist in the development and facilitation of applied behavior analysis related training for behavior team staff.

·      Maintain ongoing communication with parents, caregivers, and outside providers to ensure effective coordination of care.

·      Create ongoing data collection system to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for all consumers, and to analyze data on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming.

  • Provide positive and constructive feedback to staff regarding clinical and professional skills on a regular basis.

·      Keep current with ABA literature, new research findings, and resources. 

·      Complete all required training and CUEs to maintain BCBA certification ND licensure.

·      Complete session notes within 24 hours of each session.

·      Engage in behavior compliant with the BACB Ethics Code.

·      Complete and document overlaps to ensure fidelity of treatment.

·      Assist in tracking due dates and completion of RBTs initial and annual competency assessment and submission.

·      Provide RBTs on team with minimum of 5% supervision.

·      Member of the Behavior Leadership Team.

·      Regular contact with team members. Purpose of contacts is to explain, clarify or interpret information. May handle confidential information and some complex matters.

·      Assesses and resolve problem situations that may require influencing others to reach a consensus. Requires tact and diplomacy to handle difficult customer situations. Requires advanced interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain internal and external customer relationships in both the areas of sales and service. Explores alternatives and creative solutions to meeting the needs of the customer. Frequent external contact.

PROBLEM SOLVING

·      Problems and solutions are unique and unpredictable but are similar to those previously encountered. Solutions require judgment such as setting priorities, evaluating results and/or coordinating with others.  

DECISION MAKING AND DECISION IMPACT

·      Independent judgment is required to analyze problems and perform needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment is used. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures and practices. Refers exceptions to policies and procedures to the supervisor.

·      Decision-making impacts department.

SUPERVISION REQUIRED

·      Performs duties within scope of general policies, procedures and objectives with minimal supervision. Refers exceptions to supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Supervisor: Number of direct reports: 8

·      Supervises employees who generally perform the same work or similar work/tasks within a designated department/area. May occasionally do the work of those supervised. Provides input for budget preparation, and prepares/provides input on performance management

·      Tasks are various and focus more on single processes. Work is sometimes standardized and sometimes varied.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work may occur in the office, from a remote office location, and from a client site. Occasional travel may be required. Lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds may be necessary.  Standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, squatting, and driving are common motion requirements. The ability to make quick decisions, manage multiple priorities, be flexible, deescalate conflict, and operate in a fast-paced environment may be required. 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

•        Required: Master’s degree in psychology, education, applied behavior analysis, or related field

•        Board Certified Behavior Analyst

•        North Dakota Licensed Behavior Analyst
