Assistant Fulfillment Operations Manager

About the Position – This role is on-site 5 days a week in Dover, NJ.

Fulco Fulfillment Inc. (FFI) in Dover, NJ is currently hiring a full time Assistant Operations Manager. FFI is a warehouse and fulfillment company. Service is what we sell. Our employees become an extension of our customer’s business; our people are our biggest asset.  We are seeking an experienced Assistant Fulfillment Operations Manager to join our 3PL logistics and fulfillment operation in Dover, NJ.

This is a hands-on management position for an experienced warehouse and fulfillment professional who understands the fast-paced demands of a third-party logistics environment. The Assistant Operations Manager will work directly with the Director of Operations to oversee daily warehouse activities, co-manage the warehouse team, with a focus around maintaining productivity and accuracy, and ensure customer orders are fulfilled efficiently and on time.

The ideal candidate is an experienced 3PL professional who is comfortable working on the warehouse floor, leading a team, solving operational problems, not afraid to get their hands dirty, communicating with the customer and taking ownership of daily operations. Ability to effectively work with diverse personalities while maintaining a positive customer experience and supporting the overall well-being of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Operations in managing daily warehouse and fulfillment operations
• Supervise, train, motivate, and support warehouse personnel
• Coordinate daily receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory activities
• Freight estimates and coordinate LTL pick-ups
• Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on schedule
• Monitor warehouse productivity, accuracy, quality, and workflow
• Work in conjunction with other departments
• Assist customers with daily requests and maximize a positive customer experience.
• Utilize our order management system to monitor and manage customer orders and warehouse activity
• Maintain accurate inventory and investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Identify operational issues and implement practical solutions
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient warehouse environment
• Assist with scheduling and daily staffing requirements
• Provide leadership and direction to the warehouse team when the Director of Operations is unavailable
• Provide customer communication support to the Client Service Manager team

Qualifications

Required

• 3 years of experience working in a 3PL, logistics, fulfillment, or distribution warehouse
• Previous warehouse supervisory or leadership experience
• Strong understanding of 3PL fulfillment operations
• Hands-on experience with receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control
• Experience working with an order management or warehouse management system
• Attention to detail and meticulous work ethic
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to lead by example and work effectively with a warehouse team
• Reliable, accountable, and willing to take ownership of responsibilities

Preferred

• Experience with VeraCore 3PL Fulfillment Platform
• Forklift operating experience
• Microsoft 365 experience with working knowledge of Word and Excel for sorting and filtering
• Experience training and developing warehouse employees
• Experience with routing guides

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who knows 3PL fulfillment from the ground up.

You should be comfortable getting involved in the operation when needed and not afraid to get your hands dirty. 

The right person will be a hands-on leader who can identify problems, make sound decisions, understanding of API integration and experience with order management system and warehouse management system, and work closely with the Director of Operations to continuously improve the business.

3PL fulfillment platform, VeraCore experience is a significant advantage and will be strongly considered in the hiring process.

Compensation - Salaried position depending on experience and qualifications.

Candidates with strong 3PL experience, proven leadership ability, and VeraCore experience may be considered at the higher end of the range.
