Position Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the daily accounting operations of the organization by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role works closely with the Controller and other departments to support the company's financial objectives.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial reports and analyses for management.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems required; PLEX ERP experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer.
  • Ability to read documents and computer screens.
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office environment within a manufacturing facility.

FUJIHATSU & TOYOTSU Battery Components is a joint venture between Fujihatsu Tech America, Inc. and Toyota Tsusho American, Inc. that focuses on manufacturing prismatic aluminum cell cases and cell covers for lithium-ion batteries, particularly for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and battery electric vehicles (BEVs). The new facility is located in Liberty, North Carolina, and aims to create over 150 new jobs to meet the increasing demand for automotive batteries.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
