We are growing our locations and are investing more than $2 billion into establishing a new large-scale manufacturing site for biopharmaceuticals in the United States to accelerate the growth of our Bio CDMO (Contract and Development Manufacturing Organization) business. This will be the largest end-to-end cell culture CDMO provider in North America.

The new site will offer end-to-end solutions to our customers looking to manufacture biopharmaceuticals in the US. In addition to drug substance manufacture, it will also provide automated fill-finish and assembly, packaging, and labeling services. The new state-of-the-art facility is located in Holly Springs, North Carolina, United States.

Internal Job Description

About this Role

The Supply Chain intern role will report to the Supply Chain Management team assisting with operational readiness for Supply Planning and Warehouse support.  This candidate will interact frequently with internal customers, Validation, Manufacturing, Engineering teams, to identify materials needed for processes.  This opportunity will be integral in supporting startup activities and require working with many levels of the organization.  Therefore, communication skills and ability to be agile with day to day workload will be essential for this position. 

Responsibilities will include creating a spreadsheet with materials for purchasing to assist the Supply Planning team in forecasting.  Developing a master list of materials will be the primary responsibility, but other duties could be interacting with vendors to understand more about procurement details.  This data will be used for master data and Warehouse for building the ERP system along with forecasting the purchase plan.  Tracking and reporting the progress for these materials is critical for this role, and communicating frequently to internal customers. 

Potential Job Tasks Include:

• Assist Supply Planning team to identify and onboard materials needed for the startup drug substance manufacturing project
• Work closely with internal customers; Engineering, Manufacturing, Process Science, and Validation teams to understand material needs for operational readiness
• Build material list in internal database/tracker for material forecasting to include details about end user needs and procurement information
• Develop and report data to cross functional team, especially Supply Planning, for forecasting against project needs
• Identify opportunities to purchase materials within allocated budget and reducing impact to storage capacity

Basic Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in cross functional teams
• Solid organizational skills
• Ability to work in changing environment with fast response time to internal customers
• Good understanding of supply chain processes for materials and/or production planning, linking to end user requirements for GMP production

Preferred Requirements

• No previous work experience in Warehouse or Supply Chain field is required but any knowledge in logistics, planning, or purchasing is preferred
• Knowledge of GMP documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures in pharmaceutical environment is a plus
• Currently pursuing minimum education level, BS/BA in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, Life Science or relevant field
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365; Excel, Word, PowerPoint and/or other program applications such as Smartsheet.
