The Role
The Senior Purchasing Agent is responsible for leading our direct materials procurement activities across assigned categories and suppliers, ensuring alignment with sourcing strategies, cost objectives, and supply continuity requirements.
This role owns supplier commercial execution, including pricing accuracy, contract alignment, and performance management, while partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Finance to drive business outcomes.
While this role does not typically execute daily purchase orders, it is accountable for ensuring that all purchasing data (including pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contractual obligations) is accurate, current, and fully reflected in ERP systems.
The Senior Purchasing Agent serves as a key commercial and operational leader for assigned suppliers, driving supplier performance, supporting sourcing strategy execution, and proactively identifying opportunities for cost optimization and risk mitigation.

Job Description
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Commercial Ownership (Pricing, Terms, Agreements)
- Own and maintain accuracy of pricing, payment terms, freight terms, and contract details in SAP
- Lead supplier commercial discussions including pricing changes and contract updates
- Ensure alignment with sourcing strategies and negotiated agreements
- Partner with Finance to ensure cost accuracy and support audits
- Own supplier relationships and serve as primary procurement contact
- Lead supplier performance reviews and corrective actions
- Drive supplier accountability to service, quality, and contract terms
- Lead sourcing events including benchmarking and negotiations
- Ensure ERP data integrity across purchasing attributes
- Validate PO accuracy and escalate discrepancies
- Drive process standardization across FEUS sites
- Support supplier qualification and audits
- Ensure regulatory and quality documentation compliance
- Support procurement audit readiness
- Lead collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Finance
- Drive resolution of supply and technical issues
- Support new product introductions and supplier transitions
- Drive cost reduction and avoidance initiatives
- Monitor commodity trends
- Lead supply risk mitigation strategies
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
- 7 years of procurement or supply chain experience
- Experience in chemicals, semiconductor, or manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- Experience with SAP and strong Excel/data skills
- Ability to influence cross-functionally
- Direct materials procurement experience
- Technical sourcing or supplier qualification experience
