Job Description
The GIS Analyst will be responsible for assisting with QA/QC and analysis of GIS data. In addition, you may be asked to assist our other Fugro business units, sister companies with projects and workload.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyses day-to-day post-processed office and field related geo-data on projects of low complexity. Is responsible for the completeness and quality of interpreted data.
- Assists senior colleagues, setting up data analytics procedures, carrying out computations and compiling survey reports of medium to high complexity.
- May contribute to moderate complex projects by bringing in advanced expertise in the development/modification or implementation of GIS applications/software and keeps up to date on latest revisions.
- May also assess within the (project) team whether steps within the data process can be accelerated by (partial) automation of the process through GIS and or other data tools.
Job Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
- Possess current driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or equivalent. Have 5 or more years’ experience, or any equivalent education and experience.
- Have experience in GIS concepts and analytical techniques, including computerized mapping and digital data conversion, manipulation, and analysis.
- GIS database administration and management principles, methods and techniques, including quality control methods and practices.
- Principles and practices of GIS analysis and design.
- Strong computer skills are required.
- Hardware and software applications development methods, tools and utilities applicable to the GIS system.
- MS Word, Excel, and Access; Internet software, E-mail; Windows operating systems; Geographic conversion software experience.
- Operation and working knowledge of PC based computer systems and software, including but not limited to: Hypack, ArcGIS, Caris, SonarWiz, TerraModel, and POSPac.
