Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems accurately to process customer transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their shopping experience
- Assist with product demos and upselling to promote store merchandise and increase sales
- Maintain knowledge of store products, promotions, and policies to answer customer inquiries effectively
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times
- Support merchandising efforts by organizing displays and restocking shelves as needed
- Manage phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
- Supervise or assist with other store duties such as stocking shelves or organizing merchandise when necessary
- Uphold store policies regarding safety, cleanliness, and customer service standards
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in retail or grocery store environments preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and retail math calculations
- Strong communication skills, including clear phone etiquette and customer interaction skills
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and sales transactions
- Experience with upselling, product demos, merchandising, and stock management is a plus
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving a diverse clientele
- Supervising experience is beneficial but not required; leadership qualities are valued
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced retail setting while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
