Quality Control Inspector (2nd shift Q-Gate)

A tier one supplier of fuel system parts to the automotive industry, has immediate openings for a 2nd Shift Quality Control Inspector (4:00pm-12:30am or later).

Summary:

Intent of this role is to inspect and verify products conform to customer’s quality and delivery requirements.

Qualified applicants should possess the following:

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform Quality Gate inspections
• Communicate quality issues with production team with intent to meet both Quality and Delivery expectations
• Make quality decisions based on established boundaries, and customer requirements
• Conduct in-lab testing of sample product per shift requirements utilizing lab equipment (ex. Microscope, calipers, Faro, Innstom, etc.)
• Record and track quality data, maintain reliable record of daily quality issues and tests results
• Participate in kaizen activities based on daily activity
• All other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge / Education:

• GED or High School diploma
• Familiar with Blueprint reading
• Basic shop math
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Safety PPE requirements

Skills:

• Effective Organizational and Time Management skills
• Communicate effectively written / verbal
• Maintain a positive work environment
• Self-starter with little to no direct supervision
• Utilize gages, and other diagnostic / measurement devices to verify product integrity
• Utilize bandsaw, rotozip and other shop equipment / tools
• Attention to detail, and decisiveness to keep within cycle times and ensure quality

Abilities:

• Ability to work with other departments to meet production goals
• Ability to stand and handle tanks at end of line for full shift & catch & record quality issues
• Capable of multitasking and adjusting to changing priorities
• Responsive to solve immediate concerns and keeps others informed on requests in a timely fashion
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment
• Must be able to meet flexible work hours as needed to complete job assignments (example: come in early or work over in order to help cover other shifts due to absenteeism or work a split shift)

Work Conditions:

Standing, carrying loads up to 50 lbs.; Works in plant and / or Quality Lab; Short term noisy while cutting up parts using Machinery, ie. Bandsaw; Must wear PPE as required to perform job functions; Work in both production work cells and/or Quality Lab environments; Work in a fast pace environment with changing priorities; May be called in to work on hours outside regular shift.
