What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Development Representative position at Fuel Sales Academy?
Company Description:
Fuel Sales is the leading remote sales training organization connected with EdTech companies and built around a sales training model where we hire and train Sales Development Representatives (SDRs). Through live coaching, hands-on experience, and applied learning, we help individuals break into tech sales while building the communication, outreach, and discovery skills needed to succeed in modern sales environments.
Our training empowers individuals to break into thriving tech sales careers—many of our graduates have landed SDR, BDR, and even broader roles, growing beyond what they imagined.
Role Description:
Fuel Sales is actively seeking passionate individuals for full-time US-based SDR positions. Join our team for an opportunity to undergo rigorous training and master the sales development process. Working closely with client Account Executives, you'll engage prospects, educate them on our clients' offerings, and facilitate product demonstrations. With a focus on sectors such as Education Technology, Healthcare, and Financial Services, you'll have the chance to expand your skill set and thrive in a dynamic environment.
Our interview process
We use a skills-based interview to give candidates from different backgrounds an opportunity to demonstrate how they learn and apply our sales approach.
Choose a self-paced online evaluation or a scheduled live cohort. Both introduce our sales framework and give you an opportunity to demonstrate your skills.
Our team reviews your evaluation to decide whether to offer you a position. The skills-based interview is unpaid; paid training begins if you’re hired.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively seek out new business opportunities and cultivate customer relationships.
- Educate potential customers on the value of our clients' solutions.
- Collaborate with client Account Executives to schedule software solution demonstrations.
- Utilize contact management technology effectively.
What we're looking for:
- A mission-driven mindset with a strong work ethic.
- Curiosity and problem-solving skills.
- Empathy and a focus on delivering solutions.
- Prior experience in Education/EdTech is a plus.
- Good communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for using technology to drive business outcomes.
- Dedication to building a successful career.
What to Expect:
Individuals we hire typically work with Fuel Sales for three to five months, earning $15 per hour as 1099 independent contractors while gaining hands-on experience with EdTech clients and receiving sales coaching. They then pursue long-term roles through our partner network or opportunities they secure independently using the skills and experience gained with us.
We’ve helped candidates move into partner-company roles offering annual total compensation of $60,000–$80,000, including base pay and commissions or bonuses. These are examples of past placements; transition timelines, opportunities, and compensation vary, and placement and future earnings are not guaranteed.
Requirement: You must be based in the US. We have access to sensitive data that may only be accessed by US-based team members. VPNs are not accepted.
