Duties
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including shift management and inventory control
- Lead and supervise team members, providing training and development to enhance performance
- Oversee sales activities, utilizing POS systems and implementing effective merchandising strategies
- Handle customer inquiries with professionalism, ensuring high levels of customer service and satisfaction
- Manage payroll, bookkeeping, and cash handling procedures accurately
- Coordinate purchasing, inventory management, and stock replenishment to maintain optimal stock levels
- Conduct employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and onboarding new staff
- Implement marketing initiatives to promote products and increase sales
- Ensure compliance with store policies, safety standards, and organizational procedures
- Support budgeting efforts and assist in sales management to meet or exceed targets
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and organizational abilities
- Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS technology, and retail math principles
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus for serving a diverse customer base
- Demonstrated ability in sales management, pricing strategies, merchandising, and marketing techniques
- Experience with payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and administrative tasks
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail sales environments preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
