Job Title: Cook FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Department: Back of House Reports To: Assistant Kitchen Mgr.
DEFINITION:
Responsible for preparing all food items in an efficient fashion according to Fudpucker’s high quality standards. Portions and prepares food items prior to cooking. Other duties include plating and garnishing cooked items. Responsible for maintaining a sanitary kitchen work area.
ESSENTIONAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
· Ensures that all food items are prepared and presented in accordance with Fudpucker’s recipes, portions, and quality standards.
· Works harmoniously with all restaurant personnel to ensure quick, responsive service to customers including special requests and complaints.
· Checks the quality and freshness of food products. Takes measures to avoid food spoilage and control waste.
· Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes supplies, equipment, assigned workstation and surrounding areas prior to the end of each shift.
· Complies with all Fudpucker’s policies and procedures as per the Employee Handbook.
· May assist others and perform other appropriate duties and routines as requested by the Kitchen Manager or other management personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school graduate or equivalent desired.
· Prior food preparation experience desired.
· Must be able to communicate and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.
· Must be able to work flexible hours; Monday through Sunday
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
1. Must be able communicate clearly and listen attentively to supervisors, employees, and guest instructions.
2. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for long periods of time.
3. Must have the ability to lift pots, pans, etc. up to 30 pounds in weight.
4. Must be able to follow directions.
5. Must possess dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
